Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] "Propane Tank" fatalities?

Thanks for the info, Vance and Ray,

I agree: it is unwise to advise anyone to build a submarine that doesn't
comply with PVHO standards. But we all know people are doing it.

To clarify: my intent is not to legitimize "scrapyard submarines". I want
to educate people about them in furtherance of public safety; establishing
their "track record" is part of this process.

My feeling is that, even if no "prop-tank pressure hulls" have imploded,
(while extremely fortunate and possibly attributable to extra-cautious
operation), that still does not necessarily imply suitability for use; and
people utilizing such vessels should understand they probably do so at
greater risk than those who adhere to the Code.

The question is still open: anyone know of any fatal failures of homemade
pressure hulls?
