I will check further on the diesel sub, as I told Karl. There was also a diesel POD built for the old Deep Diver by Perry, years ago, now, but I doubt if any info still exists. I've got a picture of it somewhere. If I can dig it out I'll scan it in and send it out (or something).

I haven't heard of the coating you talked about. You might not need it, as the sub doesn't live in the water full time, but hey, you have to put SOMETHING on the metal, right?
