Let me just jump in here a second to clarify one point that might have been
obscure in my preceding post (about hiring a fabricator to make your
pressure hull pieces instead of using a propane tank).

We've all seen subs made from propane tanks; we know it can be done.  I'm
not against using ready-made vessels (tanks included) if they can be
suitably adapted to serve within your design parameters.

All I'm saying is: if you are having trouble finding the right ready-made
vessel, you might want to consider having a steel fabrication company make
one for you.  (Or at least forming the compound-curved pieces so you can
weld them together yourself.) There are other reasons beyond economy and
convenience why this is a good way to go, as well.
