It seems many of us have similar dreams, what used to be called the yearning for
freedom, before behavioral theorists told us there really was no such thing.
The sad part is seeing seclusion and indetectability as the best means to secure
autonomy. The regulators and beaurocrats have made open individualism nearly
illegal. So we suppose that if a man's home is no longer his castle then an
undersea dwelling may become his best hope of refuge.
It is no big surprise that p-sub list members would be prone to such thoughts.
Willingness to take risks and desire for freedom go hand in hand. But stick
around around all you rugged individualists. The surface dwellers will need us
when their own desire for security is revealed to be the trap that enslaves
them. (Am I ranting?)
